NON SIBI REFLECTION

Being a human being it has always been my perspective to serve the mankind.  Intentionally and unintentionally I am trained in such a way that this practice goes on and on without any planning. There is a couple of non sibi deeds which I do without any planning but here I am discussing one for which I plan and it’s such  a non sibi deed which I consider my responsibility now.

My office is surrounded by such a community that they are passing very hard days of life. Their kids can hardly join the school and beside this I belong to a deprived district where the parents are totally illiterate and don’t feel the need to educate their kids. I realize it’s my moral duty to bring awareness among these parents to send their kids to school. For this purpose on the start of every academic year, I go there for the advocacy of students and I take them to school for admission and provide them uniform and stationery to ensure them a bright future. In the surrounding of my office, I meet the students personally and ask their needs regarding their school expenses and provide them financial support as much as I can. Beside this I occasionally and seasonally arrange clothes for them too.

The most effective non sibi deed of mine I participated in two years ago,  when I was a principal, I admitted an orphan student in my school and afforded her all academic expenses and she passed her secondary classes. I concluded that day as a marvelous day in my life because on that day I was really overcome with happiness.

What are your expectations for the Washington D.C trip?
I am expecting a lot for the Washington D.C trip. As Blake, Sarah and Sam are so excited for it so are we? I am expecting a lot of fun, fun and fun as I have gone through the schedule. I guess that we may meet Barak Obama the president of United States there. Trolley tour is also mentioned in the schedule and I don’t understand what is it but I am excited for it as well. There would be meetings with the senators of New Hampshire, excited to see them. We may visit Pakistan embassy, I am excited to see how Pakistanis work here and in which circumstances. My father has been listening Voice of America since my childhood, I am excited to see how voice of America reaches to Pakistan and then to Quetta.

REFLECTION ABOUT WASHINGTON D.C:

As we landed on Reagan Airport, we wait for shuttle for some time and then we got to the hotel “the Hampton inn” put our luggage in the hotel and went to Kabob Palace for lunch, enjoyed a fantastic lunch there and came back to hotel, got our rooms and were ready for Trolley Tour. When the trolley came it was amazing to see the shuttle. We all uploaded in it and trolley tour started. The specific objective of the trolley tour was to show us all the Washington D.C and its important places. We enjoyed a lot it and visited a number of monuments, memorials and museums such as Washington monument, White House (from outside), statue of great scientist Einstein, monument of Ibrahim Lincoln, monument of G. Washington, Jefferson memorial, statue of freedom, Congress house, museums of air and space, museums of natural history.  Second day, the meeting with the senate of New Hampshire was really fabulous as I was in the group of Frank and luckily the senator was her friend. So we received special protocol there and luckily we visited the whole office of the senators. It was amazing for us as even majority of the Americans haven’t seen and visited this office yet. During the table talk and discussion with state department we had a lot of information from there. We received our certificates from secretary of state government and these moments became memorable for us. Next day visited Pakistan embassy and met mam Shereen Rehman the ambassador of Pakistan in United States. We asked his secretary about working in United States, they were so satisfied and glad to be here and praised the cooperation of Americans. Beside this all we were invited at ADAMS institute for iftaar which was so fascinating as Mam Blake was accompany with us. Last day we visited Voice of America and Mr. George briefed us about the different aspects of it and further we had a question answer session with broadcasters of Urdu and Pashto language. This survey really gave me my answer that how I receive the voice of America in Pakistan. The visit to Pavilion was also amazing, as from there the whole city of Washington DC can be seen in one glance. Shopping in DC was so nice that I could never forget it. Finally we left for Boston with unwanted hearts because it was so amazing and beyond our imaginations and expectations. I had never visited such a beautiful city before. We really had fun there. I realized that Americans love and respect their history which is a very good thing. As memorials and museums are the pretty dead proofs of it. They appreciate the efforts of their heroes and those who sacrificed their lives for the humanity and human beings. Finally I feel myself so lucky that I got this opportunity and honestly Washington DC and its trip was amazing and beyond my expectations and these days became as unforgettable days of my life. But the dream of meeting with Barack Obama remained unfulfilled in my life.
